Post #994 – We All Screen For Ice Cream

// August 5th, 2010 // No Comments » // art shows, design

I was recently invited to contribute a t-shirt for an “ice cream themed” art show in Philly. As many of you know, I have a pretty severe sweet tooth, so this was just too good to pass up, and a labor of love with much time being spent doing heavy research at each of the fine ice cream establishments sprinkled around the town of Rehoboth Beach.

Anyway, only 20 of these shirts were printed so, if you are interested in picking one up, the opening party takes place this Friday night, August 6th, at Part Time Studios from 6-10pm. Roughly 20 or so artists also contributed shirt designs, so there should be plenty of eye candy to take in.  And, as a bonus,  ice cream will be provided by the always delicious Franklin Fountain and, oddly enough, ice cream flavored jello shots will also be on hand, courtesy of My Jello Americans.  Stop by if you’re in town We All Screen for Ice Cream. 2031 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa 19125

And, as always, special thanks to the fine folks at ABNRML for screen printing the shirts. Much appreciated and a great job as always.

Post #984 – She & Him poster

// July 2nd, 2010 // 1 Comment » // design, posters

I’m a big fan of  She & Him, so I was stoked when I got the chance to design the poster for their July 2 show at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia. If you’re unfamiliar with the band, She & Him is a collaboration between actress Zooey Daschenel and the multi-talented musician M. Ward, who’s made a name for himself both as a successful solo artist as well as a member of the Monsters of Folk.  They recently released their excellent second album, Volume II, which is worth checking out if you’re a fan of summery 60’s style pop music with a little Patsy Cline thrown in for good measure.  A solid summer album for sure.

The print measures 19? x 25? and is a 3 color screen print on 130lb Mint Green French paper cover stock, printed by ABNRML. The prints were limited to a run of 100, and will be available for purchase tonight at  the show. If you can’t make it out, I do have a few extras that will available for purchase via etsy. Post #971 – Josh Ritter poster

// May 13th, 2010 // No Comments » // design, music, posters

I recently designed a poster for singer/songwriter Josh Ritter’s May 7th performance at the Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia. The print measures 19″ x 25″ and is a 2 color screen print on 130lb Electric Red French paper cover stock, printed by ABNRML. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the lettering is printed in a silver metallic ink. The prints were limited to only a run of 100, but I do have a few extras that are available for purchase via etsy Click here for more info.

Post #959 – Bedbugs and Ballyhoo

// April 6th, 2010 // No Comments » // art, design, music

A few prints of the poster I designed for Echo and the Bunnymen’s April 25th Keswick Theater show are now for sale over at my etsy store – click here for more info. They’re printed 2 color on a really nice 130lb Night Blue French paper cover stock. Only 70 of these were screened so they’re extremely limited and, once they’re gone, they’re gone so don’t sleep on it.

And, if I haven’t said it already, I was extremely honored to do this poster – Echo and the Bunnymen was one of my favorite bands as a teen and I definitely copped a lick or two off guitarist Will Sergeant. I believe tickets are still available for the gig, which shouldn’t be missed.

Post #957 – Frightened Rabbit

// March 31st, 2010 // No Comments » // design

I recently finished a poster for Scottish indie-rockers, Frightened Rabbit’s sold out show at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia. It’s a 2 color silkscreen on French paper, to be printed by our good friends at ABNRML. Below is a sneak preview. They will available for purchase at the show so, if you were lucky enough to score a ticket, then pick one up. I may have a few extra ones up for sale at some point as well.

I also reworked the poster for Echo and The Bunnymen’s rescheduled show at the Keswick Theater. They’re being screened this afternoon and should be up around Philadelphia soon. Hope to have a few extra of those around as well so, if anyone is interested, let me know.
