Good news kind people – all this week NPR’s streaming the new Gaslight Anthem record, American Slang, and my advice to you is to get on it and get with it. As a lot of you know, I love this band, and their last disc, The ’59 Sound, was one of my favorite records 2008, and the new one does not disappoint. They’re shedding their influences a bit and starting to really come into their own and the song writing, as usual, is on point. I don’t know – too early to tell but it could be my soundtrack for the summer. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of just solid, old school rock-n-roll. I believe the platter hits shops on June 15 but, in the meantime, listen here.
