Last week, we hit the 6 year anniversary for this site – hard to believe it’s lasted that long and, although the format and content has changed, I hope you’re still getting something out if it. Regardless, thanks for stopping by and checking in.
Not one to break from tradition, I realized I never posted my favorite albums from 2010. Well, better late than never, right? And let me remind you that I don’t consider these to be the hands down best discs of the past year or in any way am I trying to show what a complete music snob I am – honestly, you can keep all that competitive jock-ish music debate to yourself. This is just a short list of records that I really dug this year and, hopefully, you will too. And, as always, if there’s anything you think I missed, please let me know – I’m all ears.
Mighty Joe Castro’s Favorite Records of 2010:
1) Titus Andronicus The Moniter
2) The Gaslight Anthem American Slang
3) Best Coast Crazy for You
4) Gil Scott Heron I’m New Here
5) The Black Keys Brothers
6) Arcade Fire The Suburbs
Aside from this list, which I would call the cream of the crop, I also loved Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Young Blood Blues, Neil Young’s Le Noise and She & Him Volume 2. All are worth your time as well.
