I am very excited to announce that I will showing 15 collages as part of a three person show at Kingsborough Art Museum in Brooklyn, NY.  Layers of Meaning, Confronting Modernism and Modernity in Contemporary Collage Practices also features artwork by Simone Zimmermann and Linda Lee Nicholas. My selection of work features collages from the past 10 years.

The exhibtion runs from March 22 until May 18th.  The opening reception is Wednesday March 22 from 3-5 pm.  I will be in attendance.  Hope to see you there.

About the show:

Artists Mighty Joe Castro, Linda Lee Nicholas, and Simone Zimmermann each approach the medium of collage in ways that are both visually arresting and intellectually compelling. Meaning is suggested in their work though the careful juxtaposition of the various elements–but those meanings are never firmly fixed, as the power of collage is in its subtle, nebulous flirtations with interpretation. In these works, meaning materializes with assemblage, creating form and vague narratives from otherwise incongruous pieces. This exhibition celebrates the beauty and depth of collage through three contemporary artists who address culture and art through this time-honored medium.
